FamBrain Privacy Policy. Effective date: [to set when published]
Who we are. FamBrain is a private, invite-only family organiser run by Brian Kealey ("we"). Contact: support@fambrain.app.
What we collect.
- Account data: parent names and email addresses (for sign-in codes), and family member display names and avatars.
- Children's data: a child's first name or nickname, avatar, chores, stars and rewards. Parents create and manage children's profiles. Children don't sign up, give an email address or see ads. We don't knowingly collect anything else from children.
- Family content: chores, rewards, reminders, notes and calendar events that family members add.
- Calendar data: events from calendars a parent chooses to connect (see Google data below), and read-only published calendar (ICS) links a parent provides.
- Device and diagnostics: device type, app version, and request logs with hashed family and device identifiers, used for security and reliability. No advertising identifiers.
How we use it. Only to run FamBrain for your family: showing the wall and app, syncing between your devices, sending sign-in codes, and keeping the service secure. We don't sell, rent or share personal data for advertising, and we don't use it to build profiles.
Google user data. If a parent connects the core Google Calendar, FamBrain requests the calendar.events permission. We use it only to read events from that calendar and to create, edit or delete events there when a parent, or a helper with calendar.edit, does so in FamBrain. We store an encrypted refresh token and copies of those events so the wall works when phones are off. We don't use Google data for ads, don't sell it, don't transfer it except as needed to provide the feature or by law, and humans don't read it except with your consent, for security, or by law.
FamBrain's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where data is stored. On Cloudflare (Workers and D1) and with our email provider, Resend, which only sends sign-in codes. Data is encrypted in transit, and tokens are encrypted at rest.
Sharing. Only with family members you invite and with the service providers above, acting for us. We don't share with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Retention and deletion. We keep data while your family uses FamBrain. A parent can disconnect Google at any time in FamBrain settings or at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting deletes the stored token and synced Google events. To delete a child's profile or the whole family's data, email support@fambrain.app and we'll delete it within 30 days, including backups as they expire.
Children. FamBrain is designed for parents to use with their children. Parents control every child profile and can review or delete a child's data at any time by contacting us.
Changes. We'll update this page and the effective date, and tell parents in the app about material changes.
